About Zer

A convenience store on Manchester Road in Nelson.

Who we are

The parts of a shop nobody thinks about

Zer Ltd runs a convenience store (SIC 47110) at 278 Manchester Road in Nelson, Lancashire.

Most of what a corner shop does is unremarkable: keep the shelves stocked, keep the chilled cabinets at temperature, check the dates, and be open when people actually need something. We try to do that well and we would rather be told when we have not.

The part that is not unremarkable is age-restricted sales. A convenience store sells things that it is an offence to sell to somebody underage, and there is no version of that where being busy is an excuse. We operate Challenge 25: anyone who looks under 25 will be asked for a passport, photocard driving licence or PASS-accredited card, and without one the sale does not happen. Staff are told to refuse rather than guess, and nobody gets into trouble here for refusing a sale.

This website does not advertise or promote tobacco, nicotine or vaping products, and it never will. Advertising tobacco products is prohibited by law, tobacco must be kept out of sight in store, and we are not going to use a website to get round either rule. You will find no brands, no prices and no pictures of any of it here.

On food: if something is loose, or packed on the premises, ask us and we will go through the allergen information with you before you buy. If we cannot be certain about something, we will say so instead of guessing.
